Chilumba Projects 2024 Q1 Monitoring Report
From February 26th to February 29th, 2024, a team from Urban Research and Advocacy Centre (URAC) made a monitoring trip to Chilumba. The team comprised Wongani Chunga, Faith Manda and Zebron Phiri (URAC), and Emma Maisch (Stuttgart University student on six months’ internship https://www.uni–stuttgart.de/en/) and Chida Phiri (Mzuzu University student on internship www.mzuni.ac.mw ). URAC has implemented several projects in the Chilumba Small Town with the sponsorship of Malawi Freunde Rottenburg e.V. (MFR). The team visited the following projects:
Thukutu village clinic
Thukutu Village Clinic was constructed in Kamtenthenga Area and completed in July 2022. The project comprises a clinic and Borehole which serves over 100 households. Total cost of the project was K35,888,500.
