Four Boreholes Handed Over to one of Nkhotakota’s Community

FOUR BOREHOLES HANDED OVER  TO THE COMMUNITY NKHOTAKOTA

Speaking during the ceremony, URAC Director Dr. Mtafu Manda thanked all partners including the government through the District Water Department for their support towards the project He advised the water point committees in the four villages to develop bylaws and establish the borehole maintenance fund in order for them to have ready funds for repairing the

boreholes.

      Speaking at the function, the Ward Councilor, Watson Mkute expressed happiness with the project noting that the villagers were grateful as for some of the villagers these boreholes were the first ever in their area. He requested for further support as there were still eight other villages that has no access to safe water in the ward. By Wongani Chunga: Community Development Assistant, URAC.
