URAC Director of Research in High Profile Inquiry Committee

The Director of Research at URAC, Prof Wiseman Chijere Chirwa is one the 14-member high profile inquiry committee appointed by His Excellency the president of Malawi Dr Lazarus Chakwera to inquire into three issue that dent government image. These issues are public sector procurement, allowances and employment contracts. The inquiry team is headed by the Vice President, Dr Saulos Chilima who is also minister responsible of economic planning and public reforms.

The committee, which is expected to release its report within 3 months from March 2021, was appointed following abuse of covid-19 funding totaling K6.2 billion, most of it through unexplained allowances.
